We’re Mac Leather, a family leather factory in Karachi. We started in 1998, the third generation now runs the floor, and we sell wholesale leather jackets to brands and boutiques in the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East, and to the distributors who supply them. Everything is made in our own building. Nobody sits between you and the people cutting your jackets.
Orders start at 20 pieces. Some buyers send us 20 sheepskin bombers for a shop opening, others send repeat bulk orders every season, and the work is the same either way.

Who you’re buying from
A lot of the wholesale leather jacket trade runs through agents and trading houses. We’re a factory. About 25,000 pieces a year go through our Karachi unit, and our machinists are best at the fiddly garments: panelled backs, lots of hardware, stitching that has to sit dead straight on a curve. Plenty of factories turn that work down.
Minimum order: 20 pieces, mixed
You need 20 pieces per order, and you can mix them across styles and colours. Most Asian factories ask for 200 to 1,000 per style. So a new label or an independent shop can buy leather jackets wholesale at a low MOQ without filling a warehouse, and bigger buyers can try a new colourway before committing. We’ve been cutting and sewing leather since 1998. Over that time you learn how to keep sizing consistent across a run and how to build quilted linings, asymmetric zips, detachable hoods and shearling collars without the job slipping. One building, one contact
Patterns, cutting, sewing and finishing all happen with our own team, and so do the checks and the packing. If something goes wrong there’s no subcontractor to blame. You talk to one person, and they can walk onto the floor and look at your order.
Where the savings come from
Our prices are lower for boring structural reasons, mostly trade rules and where we’re based.
0% customs duty into the UK and EU
Qualifying leather goods made in Pakistan go into the UK at 0% duty under the UK DCTS (Developing Countries Trading Scheme). Pakistan has had GSP+ status with the EU since January 2014, which gives the same 0% on qualifying leather garments. Check the commodity code for each product with your customs broker before you ship.
A worked example. Order 500 sheepskin jackets at $60 FOB, which is $30,000. The same order from China or India carries 4% MFN duty, so you’d pay another $1,200. From us you don’t. Turkey also gets 0% into the EU through the customs union, but Turkish making costs usually run 40 to 60% above ours for similar quality, so the duty doesn’t close the gap.
No agent in the middle
Agents and trading houses usually add 15 to 30%. You’re dealing with the factory, so that margin stays with you, and you can see what the jacket actually costs to make.
Tanneries down the road
Pakistan has over 800 tanneries, around 250 of them in the Korangi industrial area here in Karachi. The country has more than 200 million head of livestock, including 33 million sheep and 89 million goats, so hides are easy to get and cost less than they do for factories in Turkey or Europe. Pakistan exported roughly $683.5 million of leather in FY2024-25.

You can start at 20 pieces mixed. The unit price then drops at higher quantities per style, at 100 pieces, then 250, then 500+. We show the breaks on the quote so you can plan margins at each level.

Turkish samples can come back faster than ours. Where we win is the minimum and the price.
Jacket styles we make
Men’s and women’s, in most of the shapes people buy. You can change any of them, or use one of our existing patterns and save a round of sampling.
Bomber jackets
Rib cuffs and hem, front zip, plain or quilted lining. Sheepskin gives a soft, light drape and cowhide holds a stiffer shape. It’s the style we sell most of, to streetwear labels and fashion brands alike.
Biker and moto jackets
Asymmetric zip, snap-down lapels, a belt, zipped cuffs. We make the classic Perfecto shape and slimmer modern cuts. Hardware comes in antique brass, gunmetal, matte black or silver nickel.
Aviator and shearling jackets
Real shearling or faux. Big collars, buckles, distressed finishes if you want them. These are hard garments to make well because the skins are thick and the seams are bulky, and they’re one of the things we’re good at. See our custom leather jackets page for more on the harder builds.
Leather trench coats
Full length or three-quarter, in smooth sheepskin or nubuck. Single or double-breasted, with belt, storm flap and back vent as options. They sell at higher retail prices.
Hooded leather jackets
Fixed or detachable hood, in matching leather or a jersey contrast. Younger customers and streetwear brands like them.
Leather vests
Snap or zip front. Fitted fashion vests or looser utility cuts, popular with motorcycle brands.
Blazers and tailored jackets
Notch, peak or shawl collar, fully lined with inside pockets. We fit them the way a tailor fits a wool blazer. They do well in smart-casual ranges at higher price points.
Your own designs
Send a tech pack, a sketch or reference photos and we’ll make a sample. If another factory said no because it was too complicated, try us. More on our private label leather jackets page.
Other products
You can add other things to the same order, and they count towards the 20-piece minimum. We make other leather garments (overshirts, gilets, skirts, trousers), and we’re also a leather bags manufacturer for totes, crossbodies, backpacks or holdalls.
Leathers for wholesale orders
The leather decides how the jacket looks, how heavy it is, how long it lasts and what it costs. We buy hides direct from Pakistani tanneries.
Sheepskin
Most of what we make is sheepskin, and it’s what we suggest to most new buyers. It’s soft, it drapes well and the price works for volume. Pakistan has around 33 million sheep, so supply is steady all year. Most jackets in the $40 to $75 FOB bracket are sheepskin.
Fine sheepskin
Our lightest, softest grades with the cleanest grain. It costs more, typically $75 to $150 FOB, and suits bombers and bikers, or tailored pieces where the leather itself is the selling point.
Cowhide
Thick and stiff. Good for motorcycle-style and workwear jackets. We use full-grain, top-grain and corrected-grain, and it wears in well over the years. It’s also heavier, which some customers won’t like in a fashion jacket.
Goatskin
Tighter grain, and tough for its weight. It sits between sheepskin and cowhide. There are about 89 million goats in Pakistan, so it’s easy to get and reasonably priced.
Shearling
Sheepskin tanned with the wool left on, used for aviators and ranchers and other winter styles. We work natural and dyed shearling in different wool lengths, all in-house.
Suede and nubuck
Buffed leathers with a matte, soft surface, good for vintage-looking pieces and spring or autumn ranges. We use goat suede, sheep suede and cow nubuck. Suede marks more easily than smooth leather, which is worth telling your customers.
PU leather (vegan)
Polyurethane for brands that want no animal materials. FOB starts at $15 to $35 per jacket, and a growing share of our wholesale leather jacket orders are PU.
On sustainability
The genuine leather we use is a by-product of the meat industry. No animal is raised or killed for its hide, and the hides would otherwise be thrown away. If you tell your customers that, it’s true and you can back it up.
Quality checks and compliance
We don’t leave quality to one inspection at the end. Every wholesale leather jacket is checked at several points.
- Hides are checked for scars and uneven grain, and for colour and thickness, before they reach the cutting table.
- Our QC team looks at the work after cutting, again after sewing and again after finishing, so a problem gets caught early.
- Finished jackets are checked against your approved sample: stitching, hardware, lining, colour, size tolerance. We use AQL 2.5 unless you ask for something stricter.
- We welcome third-party inspections by SGS, Bureau Veritas, QIMA or your own inspector, arrange REACH and AZO lab tests on request, and supply the paperwork your compliance team asks for.
Lead times and shipping
- Samples: about 2 weeks for simple styles, up to 8 for complicated ones, once we agree the brief
- Bulk: typically 30 to 45 days after you approve the sample
- Sea freight: 20 to 30 days to European ports, cheapest for bigger orders
- Air freight: 5 to 7 days, for urgent or small shipments
- Courier: DHL or FedEx for samples and small parcels
We do the export paperwork: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, the proof of origin you need for UK DCTS or EU GSP+ duty-free entry, and anything else your broker asks for. We quote FOB Karachi or CIF to your port.
Each jacket goes in its own polybag, then into export cartons. Branded tissue, hangtags, care labels and dust bags can be added to the quote.

What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale leather jackets?
20 pieces per order, mixed across styles and colours. That goes for our own designs and for custom or private label ones. Samples have no minimum.
How much do wholesale leather jackets cost?
From $15 FOB for PU up to about $300 for fine sheepskin and shearling. Roughly: PU $15 to $35, economy sheepskin $40 to $75, mid-range sheepskin or goatskin $75 to $150, and the top grades $150 to $300. The unit price drops at higher quantities per style, at 100, then 250, then 500+. Ask us for a quote on your styles.
Do leather jackets from Pakistan have import duties in the UK or EU?
Not on qualifying garments. The UK charges 0% under the DCTS (Developing Countries Trading Scheme), and the EU charges 0% under GSP+, which Pakistan has held since January 2014. China and India pay 4% MFN. We supply the proof of origin, and your customs broker should confirm the commodity code for each product.
What is the most popular leather for wholesale jackets?
Sheepskin. It’s soft and keeps most styles in the $40 to $75 FOB range. Fine sheepskin is the step up, and cowhide suits rugged biker styles.
Do you offer private label and custom branding for wholesale orders?
Yes, and most of our buyers sell under their own name. We make woven labels, branded zips or snaps, hangtags, care labels and packaging, and we can write the tech pack if you only have the idea. See our private label programme.
What are the payment terms for wholesale orders?
50% deposit when you confirm and 50% before shipping. Regular customers can get 30-day credit on approved accounts. We take bank transfer (T/T) or Letter of Credit (L/C), and PayPal for samples.
Can I visit the Mac Leather factory?
Yes. We’re at S/3 Allana Road, Karachi. Tell us when you’re coming and we can pick you up from the airport.
How long does it take to receive a wholesale leather jacket order?
Roughly 9 to 18 weeks from first message to delivery, depending on how complicated the style is. Samples take about 2 weeks for simple styles and up to 8 for complicated ones, bulk 30 to 45 days after sample approval, then 5 to 7 days by air or 20 to 30 days by sea to Europe. Complicated styles and extra sample rounds push it towards the long end.
